Genetic dissection of proteolytic and non-proteolytic contributions of MT1-MMP to macrophage invasion

► APBA3 has no effect upon the proteolytic activity of MT1-MMP. ► Loss of APBA3 abrogates MT1-MMP-mediated ATP production and motility. ► MT1-MMP dependent macrophage motility is fully dependent upon APBA3. ► Loss of APBA3 decreases macrophage invasion. ► Loss of MT1-MMP and APBA3 exhibits further decrease in invasion.
