Variation in Chst8 gene expression level affects PrPC to PrPSc conversion efficiency in prion-infected Mov cells

► We created Mov cell lines whose Chst8 gene is silenced or overexpressed. ► No changes of the total sulfated glycosaminoglycans amount are measured. ► The chondroitin sulfate amounts are increased in silenced clones. ► The amounts of 4-sulfated chondroitin are increased in silenced clones. ► The Chst8 silencing decreases the ability for conversion into PrPSc.
