The plant cell death suppressor Adi3 interacts with the autophagic protein Atg8h

► The tomato autophagy protein Atg8h is identified as an interactor with the plant cell death suppressor kinase Adi3. ► The Adi3/Atg8 interaction does not require Adi3 kinase activity. ► Adi3 weakly interacts with the other tomato Atg8 proteins Atg8a and Atg8f. ► Cosilencing of Adi3 with several autophagy genes augments the Adi3 silencing cell death phenotype.
