Decorin gene expression and its regulation in human keratinocytes

► We showed that cultured human diploid epidermal keratinocytes express and synthesize decorin. ► Decorin is found intracytoplasmic in suprabasal cells of cultures and in human epidermis. ► Decorin mRNA expression in cHEK is regulated by pro-inflammatory and proliferative cytokines. ► Decorin immunostaining of psoriatic lesions showed a lower intensity and altered intracytoplasmic arrangements.
