Keratan sulfate and related murine glycosylation can suppress murine cartilage damage in vitro and in vivo

► This article is our second report about the potential of keratan sulfate (KS) in the treatment of inflammatory disease. cf. BBRC 401 (2010) 463-468. ► Glycosaminoglycan release induced by IL-1α in the explants, and severity of arthritis in KS knockout mice were greater than their WT littermates mice. ► Administration of KS reduced the intraarticular inflammation in KS-deficient mice effectively.
