Coupling between the voltage-sensing and pore domains in a voltage-gated potassium channel

►Coupling between voltage-sensing and pore domains in a Kv channel is studied by MD. ►Restraints based on experimental data are used to move the voltage-sensing domains. ►Full channel closure required additional lateral and inward motion of the VSDs. ►An all-atom closed/resting state of the KvAP channel was produced by this work.
