Binding properties of ferrocene-glutathione conjugates as inhibitors and sensors for glutathione S-transferases

► Ferrocene (Fc) is a chemically stable and nontoxic molecule with excellent redox properties. ► Fc-conjugates can act as electrochemical sensors for the detection of glutathione S-transferase (GST). ► Thermodynamic and voltammetric studies have been done with Fc-SG derivatives and GST. ► The Fc-SG conjugates are strong GST competitive inhibitors.
