► 2.0 Å crystal structure of methionyl-tRNA synthetase (MetRS) from L. major. ► Complex with two products, methionyladenylate and pyrophosphate, in active site. ► Dramatic conformational differences compared to other MetRS structures. ► Amino acid differences in active site compared to human homologs. ► Useful for structure-based design of novel anti-trypanosomal therapeutics.
