Syndecan 4 regulation of PDK1-dependent Akt activation

► Syndecan-4 dependent PKCα activation is necessary for PDK1 recruitment to the rafts. ► Syndecan-4/PKC-alpha also recruits PAKL1/PAK2. ► The presence of PDK1/PAK1/PAK2 is required for Akt activation. ► These results place syndecan-4a t the center of Akt signaling regulation.
