Somatostatin antagonist potentiates haloperidol-induced catalepsy in the aged rat

► Aging fails to affect haloperidol-induced catalepsy in rats. ► In aged animals, a somatostatin antagonist, cyclosomatostatin, potentiates catalepsy. ► The action of cyclosomatostatin is inhibited by a somatostatin analogue, octreotide.
