Purification and characterization of a new laccase from the filamentous fungus Podospora anserina

► We report a new laccase from the filamentus fungus Podospora anserina. ► We overexpressed it in Pichia pastoris with a 65% yield and specific activity of 644 U mg−1. ► The new enzyme displays a half life > 400 min at 37 °C. ► It also displays a good stability at pH 7 and in presence of chloride.
