Outbreak-specific monovalent/bivalent vaccination to control and eradicate virulent ovine footrot

► Outbreak specific vaccination can be used for control and eradication of virulent footrot in sheep. ► Virulent footrot was eradicated from 5 of 12 trial flocks with less than 3 serogroups at the start of the trial. ► Sequential target vaccinations with bivalent vaccines can be used in flocks with more than 3 serogroups.
