Efficacy of a reformulated inactivated chimeric PCV1-2 vaccine based on clinical, virological, pathological and immunological examination under field conditions

► Chimeric PCV1-2 vaccine seems to be very effective in controlling PCV2 infection. ► Vaccinated animals displayed an improved ADG and a reduced time to market. ► Vaccination induced strong neutralizing antibodies and PCV2-specific IFN-r-SC. ► Vaccination can elicit PCV2-specific NA and IFN-γ-SC even in the presence of MDA.
