Safety of live, attenuated oral vaccines in HIV-infected Zambian adults

► Current practice is to avoid live, attenuated vaccines in HIV infection. ► Three live, attenuated oral vaccines were given to Zambian adults. ► We found no evidence of adverse events related to HIV infection. ► The recommendation to avoid live oral vaccines may need to be re-examined.
