Adolescents' awareness of HPV infections and attitudes towards HPV vaccination 3 years following the introduction of the HPV vaccine in Hungary

► We assessed Hungarian adolescents' knowledge and attitudes about HPV vaccination. ► We identified issues which the implementation of the vaccinating program may face. ► Incomplete knowledge, distrust and financial concerns are the main difficulties. ► General attitudes towards HPV vaccination are broadly positive in Hungary. ► Greater exposure to health information enhances the acceptance of vaccination.
