► We describe determinants of parents' intention to vaccinate against hepatitis B. ► We test whether intention is a good predictor of actual vaccination behaviour. ► Intention to vaccinate is determined by the attitude to hepatitis B vaccination. ► Attitude is associated with perceived benefits and susceptibility to hepatitis B. ► Intention is a significant predictor of vaccination behaviour.
