Plant expressed Coccidial antigens as potential vaccine candidates in protecting chicken against Coccidiosis

► Expression of Eimeria tenella Microneme 1 (EtMIC1) protein in plant is reported for the first time. ► Efficacy of the EtMIC1 as monovalent as well as a formulation in combination with EtMIC2 is evaluated. ► The plant expressed recombinant proteins were capable of conferring protection to immunized birds.
