Pertussis in infancy and the association with respiratory and cognitive disorders at toddler age

► We studied the association between pertussis in infancy and health outcomes in early childhood. ► We compared 89 children hospitalised for pertussis with 172 children without pertussis. ► Children had a greater chance on “asthma symptoms” and “respiratory infections”. ► The mechanisms that may underlie this association require further investigation.
