Assessment of serological evidence for mumps virus infection in vaccinated children

► A mumps IgG test was adapted to identify subclinical cases in vaccinated persons. ► Oral fluid was used to account for the sampling constrains during an outbreak. ► The number of subclinical infections during a large mumps outbreak was assessed. ► We estimate three asymptomatic infections for each symptomatic vaccinated case.
