Un syndrome à connaître…

Case report of an elderly woman who presented an acute coronary syndrome after being physically assaulted. Tako-Tsubo syndrome was the resulting diagnosis. It corresponds to an acute coronary pathology in healthy coronaries. The diagnosis is based on the characteristic dyskinetic ballooning of the left ventricle seen in a cardiac ultrasound, evoking the shape of the Tako-Tsubo, the jar that Japanese fishermen use to catch octopus. A little know cardiac pathology, this observation provides valuable information when evaluating cases of physical injury.
