Coût des opérations thanatologiques au centre hospitalo-universitaire de Bordeaux, France

This study shows that thanatological activity within the University Hospital of Bordeaux is based on judiciary fees and a strict application of the code of criminal procedure, at a deficit of up to 50%. Reform of legal medicine as imagined by the french government using block grants could be a solution to the budgetary imbalance that places in jeopardy medical-judicial thanatology, the pivot of the institutional medicolegal discipline. Our study could serve in the future for evaluation of the work performed with respect to the annual allocation received.
