Construction of Electrochemical Impedance Sensor Based on Poly Dopamine-Hyaluronic Acid Composite Membrane for Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide

A novel poly dopamine-hyaluronic acid (PDA-HA) electrochemical sensor was successfully constructed based on electrostatic interactions. Electrochemical impedance method was used to detect H2O2 based on the degradation processes between hyaluronic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The results showed that the sensor could be successfully applied to the detection of H2O2 in 0.01 M PBS (pH 7.0) medium after reaction for 30–40 min. The linear range was 1.0 × 10−5 −4.0 × 10−4 M and the detection limit was 2.0 × 10−6 M. The electrochemical sensor showed advantages of high sensitivity, low cost, satisfactory stability and reproducibility.

The electrochemical properties of the interface were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). With the layer-by-layer modification of PDA (b) and HA(c), the impedance value obtained from EIS is increased. The EIS results indicate the formation of PDA-HA hybrid membrane that can largely block the electronic transfer, which could be used to detect reactive oxygen.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
