Theoretical and experimental examination of recovery in the context of trueness of analytical results

► We present a mathematical model describing influence of both the preparative and interference effects on recovery. ► The model enables to judge usefulness of the recovery in trueness estimation. ► A dedicated flow injection system is proposed in order to perform recovery tests. ► The results obtained with the use of the model are confirmed experimentally. ► Usefulness of recovery as a parameter for assessing reliability of analytical results is considered.
