Vibrational spectra of l-arginine tetrafluoroborate and l-arginine perchlorate

Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR ATR) and Fourier transform Raman spectra of l-arginine tetrafluoroborate (l-Arg.HBF4) and l-arginine perchlorate (l-Arg.HClO4) crystals are reported and discussed. The FT-IR ATR spectrum of l-Arg.HClO4 is in agreement with previously published FT-IR KBr pellet spectrum, while previously published IR spectrum of l-Arg.HBF4 is in disagreement with reported spectrum. Possible explanation of this contradiction is proposed.
