trans-[RuIII(N-N)2Cl2]+ species, where N-N is bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methane

The shown complex cation is the first example of a structurally characterized trans-[RuIII(N-N)2Cl2]+ species which has been synthesized by reacting the N-N ligand directly with hydrated RuCl3. The potential of its Ru(II/III) couple is −0.34 V versus NHE.
