Serendipitous syntheses of Rh(H)2Cl(PRPh2)3 complexes, and their crystal structures, where RÂ =Â Me, Cy (cyclohexyl)

RhCl(1,5-cod)(THP), where THP = P(CH2OH)3, reacts with PRPh2 in acetone/MeOH solution under H2 to give cis, mer-Rh(H)2Cl(PRPh2)3 complexes, R = Me (1), R = Cy (2). Both are characterized by detailed 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy, and by crystallography in which the hydrides are located.
