Coordination chemistry of 1,2-bis{di-(4-methoxyphenyl)phosphino}ethane (L-L) to nickel, palladium and platinum: Single crystal structures of [MCl2(L-L)] (MÂ =Â Ni, Pd)

Although the synthetic and spectroscopic data clearly illustrate the enhanced electron-donating properties of 1,2-bis{di-(4-methoxyphenyl)phosphino}ethane when compared to dppe, crystallographic characterisations of [NiCl2(L-L)] and [PdCl2(L-L)] reveal no significant structural differences to the parent dppe complexes.
