Cycloplatinated(II) complex bearing 2-vinylpyridine and monodentate phosphine ligands: Optical properties and kinetic study

Complex [PtMe(Vpy)(PPh2Me)] has been synthesized and it displays an intense orange emission. The kinetic and mechanism of oxidative addition of MeI to this complex is studied. Pt(IV) complex is not stable in solution and after several hours converts to a mixture of compounds.
