Reactivity of dipyrimidyldiselenides with [M(PPh3)4] and 2-pyrimidylchalcogenolates with [MCl2(diphosphine)] (MÂ =Â Pd or Pt)

► Oxidative addition of (4,6-R2C4HN2)2Se2 to [M(PPh3)4] gave a variety of complexes. ► [Pd(TeC5H4N)2(dppp)] is converted to [Pd3(μ-Te)2(dppp)3]2+ in chlorinated solvents. ► [Pt{EC4H(4,6-R)2N2}2(P⌢P)] dissociates in CDCl3/CH2Cl2 to give [Pt3(μ-E)2(P⌢P)3]Cl2.
