Synthesis and photoluminescence properties of Sm3+ and Dy3+ ions activated Ca2Gd2W3O14 phosphors

► Sm3+ and Dy3+: Ca2Gd2W3O14 phosphors were prepared by solid state reaction method. ► Structural, morphological, elemental, photoluminescence properties were studied. ► Sm3+, Dy3+: Ca2Gd2W3O14 phosphors shown red and yellow emissions respectively. ► 5 mol% of Sm3+ and Dy3+: Ca2Gd2W3O14 phosphors are used as novel luminescent materials.
