New diorganotin(IV) complexes with 3-(2-hydroxy-5-methylphenylamino)-1,3-diphenylprop-2-en-1-one: Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, structural studies and antibacterial activity

► Synthesis of diorganotin(IV) complexes with a Schiff base derived from diketone. ► Crystal structures of Schiff base and its dimethyl complex. ► Schiff base exists as keto-amine form with inter and intramolecular hydrogen bonds. ► Dimethyltin complex is a dimeric molecule with a Sn2O2 four-membered ring. ► Diphenyltin(IV) complex exhibited good antibacterial activity.
