Spectroscopic and X-ray studies of N-methylanabasine complexes with ZnX2 (XÂ =Â Br, Cl)

► ZnX2 (X = Cl, Br) complexes with N-methylanabasine have been synthesized. ► New compounds were structurally characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray measurements. ► N-methylanabasine acts as a monodentate ligand utilizing for this purpose the pyridine nitrogen atom. ► Two N-methylanabasine units and halogen anions form a tetrahedral coordination around the Zn2+ cation.
