Liquid nitrogen energy storage unit

► In this study, we compare briefly three ways to store thermal energy around 80K. ► A compact energy storage unit able to store few kilojoules around 80K is presented. ► This device is tested and experimental results agrees with thermodynamic calculations. ► This energy storage unit is insensitive to gravity. ► Extension up to the 120 K is discussed.
