Effects of high-order surface stress on static bending behavior of nanowires

► A framework of high-order surface stress is proposed to simulate the bending behavior of nanowires. ► This study provides a continuum-mechanics modeling in the bending behavior of nanowires. ► Our results give more accurate results than those estimated by the conventional surface stress model.
