Quantum emission efficiency of nanocrystalline and amorphous Si quantum dots

► To reveal the correlation between PL intensities and volumes of nc-Si:H and a-Si:H phases. ► Estimate the QD sizes from PL and for nc-Si:H QDs from XRD. ► Obtain the rations between quantum emission efficiencies of nc-Si:H (ηcr) and a-Si:H (ηam) QDs. ► To show that (ηcr) of nc-Si:H is higher (20-60-fold) than (ηam) of a-Si:H QDs.
