Bandgap engineering of rare earth element doped nanostructured cadmium oxide thin films

► Gd doped CdO thin films grown using pulsed laser deposition technique. ► Films have very smooth surface with root mean square (rms) roughness of all the films under 1 nm. ► Optical bandgap varies from 2.75 to 3.1 eV for various films. ► The minimum resistivity of 9.8×10−5 Ω cm observed at room temperature.
