Time-evolution of electronic states in a Rashba anisotropic two-dimensional quantum dot

► Spin dynamics in a Rashba anisotropic quantum dot is reported. ► The Rashba effect couples the spin and subband states. An external perpendicular magnetic field is also applies. ► From the expectation of each spin component, spin precession about the “total” magnetic field is demonstrated. ► The total field is partly external and partly due to Rashba effect. ► The subband averages collapse and revive.
