Effect of SiC on hydrogen storage properties of Mg95Ni5 prepared by hydriding combustion synthesis and mechanical milling

► The effect of SiC on hydrogen storage properties of HCS + MM-Mg95Ni5 is reported. ► The HCS + MM-Mg95Ni5 + 2 wt.% SiC composite shows the best hydrogen storage properties. ► The HCS + MM-Mg95Ni5 + 2 wt.% SiC composite has an excellent cyclic stability at 473 K.
