Effect of magnetoelastic anisotropy on properties of Finemet-type microwires

► The influence of internal stress on magnetic and thermal properties of Finemet-type microwires was studied. ► The coercivity, Hc, increases with increasing internal stress (decreasing ρ-ratio) while the calorimetric peak of heat capacity in TC, ΔCp, decreases at the same time. ► Heat capacity peak in TC is very sensitive to relaxation and crystallization processes. ► DSC measurement can be used to control of amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic microwires.
