Pro-survival effects of JNK and p38 MAPK pathways in LPS-induced activation of BV-2 cells

► Inhibiting the p38 pathway in resting microglia show no apoptotic indications. ► p38 pathway inhibition during inflammation indicates apoptosis. ► p38 inhibition during inflammation activates caspase-3 and c-Jun phosphorylation. ► Inhibiting the JNK pathway with or without LPS resulted in Annexin-V positive cells. ► JNK pathway inhibition results in phosphorylation of p38 and caspase-3 activation.
