Separation of Pt from hydrochloric acid leaching solution of spent catalysts by solvent extraction and ion exchange

►Separation of Pt(IV) from Fe(III) and Al(III) has been investigated from hydrochloric acid solution. ►Amines and solvating extractants were not effective in separating Pt in our range. ►Pt was completely separated from the solution by continuous ion exchange with AG 1-x8 at 0.5 M HCl.
