Quand classer une lésion BI-RADS 3 en IRM mammaire ?

A lesion is classified BI-RADS category 3 in breast MR imaging when a short interval follow-up is justified. Malignant features must be excluded. Category 3 lesion can be defined as: (a) any recently emerging focal enhancement (focus) with no suspicious aspect in traditional imaging (mammography/ultrasonography); (b) any recently emerging mass enhancement with no suspicious aspect in traditional imaging with a regular shape (round, oval) and well-defined margins, with no enhancement of possible septations and with no washout; (c) any recently emerging non-mass enhancement with no suspicious aspect in traditional imaging and with no ductal or segmental distribution or unilateral and diffuse enhancement, and with unilateral or bilateral/asymmetric aspects, including in both cases focal areas, linear enhancement, regional enhancement whatever the internal enhancement and whatever the curve.
