Léiomyomatose intravasculaire de l'utérus : à propos d'un cas

Intravenous leiomyomatosis (IVL) is a rare pathology of the uterus, often underestimated, and discovered intraoperatively. Symptoms and clinical signs are like those of uterine leiomyoma, but vascular complications can also dominate. Because the presumptive diagnosis of leiomyoma may divert attention, a better knowledge of this pathology would allow a preoperative diagnosis and adapt the surgical treatment. The risk of recurrence, because of the venous invasion of the tumor, could be decreased. Finally, careful histological examination of hysterectomy specimen is mandatory to the diagnosis and to adapt follow-up of the patient.
