RésuméDevant la découverte d’une fibrillation auriculaire persistante et symptomatique, une cardioversion pharmacologique sera débutée, avec une couverture anticoagulante efficace, en accord avec les recommandations récentes. En l’absence de retour en rythme sinusal, une cardioversion électrique pourra alors être effectuée. Après retour au rythme sinusal se posera la question du traitement anticoagulant et antiarythmique qui devront le plus souvent être poursuivis au long cours.

In case of persistent and symptomatic atrial fibrillation, a pharmacological cardioversion under effective anticoagulation treatment may be performed according to current guidelines. In the absence of return to sinus rhythm, a Direct-Current cardioversion can be performed. After returning to sinus rhythm will arise the question of anticoagulation and antiarrhythmic drugs treatments that will be most often longterm pursued.
