Evaluating the effect of reglazing on dental porcelain surfaces - An invitro study

Dental porcelains which are extensively used in dentistry have been constantly evolving to maximize strength. Within the limitations of this study it was observed that the optical (light) microscope and SEM analysis correlate with each other. The specimen surfaces that were polished and then self-glazed exhibited formation of fine surface cracks.
