Hemifacial microsomia: an uncommon craniofacial anomaly-report of two cases from India with review of literature

Hemifacial microsomia (HFM) is one of the uncommon craniofacial anomalies (CFA) after cleft lip and palate, resulting in anomalies of the derivatives of first and second branchial arches. We report 2 cases of HFM who had facial asymmetry, mandibular hypoplasia, microtia, anotia, postauricular tags, an operated cleft lip, palatal fissure, and micropthalmia with lowered palpebral fissure. HFM is an autosomal dominant disorder which causes significant facial disfigurement. Early diagnosis and management by a team of specialists is essential to prevent complications associated with it.
