Let’s pretend

Judged at least by the rubrics under which they are listed, there are many ways of treating a Class II malocclusion—dental “camouflage,” “growth modification,” maxillary orthopedics, and so forth. Each method commonly is assumed to achieve a unique, superior, most appropriate type of correction. It will be the purpose of this minority opinion to argue that all treatments ultimately traverse the same path, utilize the same mechanism, and to a first approximation, achieve the same result. The choice of methods, therefore, is a practice management decision.
