Peritoneal catheter implantation elicits IL-10-producing immune-suppressor macrophages through a MyD88-dependent pathway

► Catheter implantation results in altered peritoneal cellularity. ► F4/80-low, CD11b-positive macrohages, but not B or T cell populations were expanded. ► Peritoneal catheter macrophages had increased Jmjd3 and was dependent on MyD88. ► Similar results were demonstrated in human peritoneal dialysate macrophages.
