Myocardial delayed contrast enhancement in patients with arterial hypertension: Initial results of cardiac MRI

In our series, 45% of patients with arterial hypertension showed DE on cardiac MRI. In this clinical setting, delayed enhancement may be due to coronary microangiopathy. The more intramurally localization of DE, however, rather indicates myocardial interstitial fibrosis.
