Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with pancreatic localisation

We report the PET/CT scanning in a 54-year-old female with disseminated large B-cell lymphoma who presented with non-specific abdominal symptoms. Laboratory examination at presentation revealed an elevated CRP, LDH and lipase. CT showed multiple enlarged lymph nodes, a mass in the pancreatic body and an altered and enlarged aspect of the iliacus muscle and both the gluteus medius and minimus muscles. PET scan showed FDG uptake in several lymph nodes throughout the body, the pancreatic mass, the iliacus muscle and both the gluteus medius and minimus muscles. The PET/CT scan appearance suggested the diagnosis of disseminated lymphoma in a rather unusual localisation such as the pancreas, and played an important part in both staging and treatment evaluation of our patient.
